About Bill Li

CST, Agile Coach & Conference Speaker

Bill Li is a long standing thought-leader in Agile. As an industry expert, he was entrusted by Scrum co-founder, Ken Schwaber, to translate the best-selling book Agile Project Management with Scrum in 2007 and later co-translated User Stories Applied by Mike Cohn, along with three other major titles in Scrum. Bill is currently working on his own book, Successful Agile Product Management, and is an in-demand featured speaker and conference organizer for events like Agile China, QCon, Scrum Gatherings, and Agile Tour.

Based in Vancouver, BC, Bill is a graduate of York University’s Schulich School of Business (MBA) and also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Automation & Computer Applications.

He has three decades of knowledge to share, spanning two continents. As an IT/Tech consultant and coach with leading companies that include Cisco, Nokia, Standard Chartered, Alibaba, Fidelity, and Morgan Stanley. Bill has a cross-functional focus that his coaching clients say creates an open, transparent and creative environment to focus on greater efficiency and better business outcomes.

Taking a class with Bill is a unique experience. Bill’s students describe him as inspiring and the ideal teacher for those new to Scrum and Agile. He challenges his students to think deeper about the benefits of Scrum with hands-on and action-oriented exercises in every class.

I’m passionate about giving people the tools to not just make work more effective, but more enjoyable. Creative and transparent environments can translate from the classroom to the workplace if you can make classes lively and interactive, while challenging students to think deeper about the lessons of Scrum.
