Lucy O'Keefe

Luciana (Lucy) O’Keefe has more than 30 years of experience in software and product development, helping organizations build better products, strengthen leadership, and improve how teams deliver value.

Throughout her career, Lucy has served as a software developer, business analyst, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Scrum Master Manager, Agile Coach, consultant, and trainer. Having worked across nearly every role involved in product delivery, she brings a practical, well-rounded perspective to every class and understands the real challenges teams and leaders face.

My goal isn’t to help you pass an exam. It’s to help you walk into work on Monday with the confidence and judgment to actually do the job.

Lucy has trained and coached professionals across financial services, healthcare, government, manufacturing, technology, and higher education, working with organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. Her experience spans Scrum, product management, Agile transformation, organizational coaching, and leadership development, allowing her to connect Agile frameworks to the realities organizations face every day.

In addition to teaching Scrum Alliance certification courses, Lucy is an accredited ICAgile instructor for the ICAgile Certified Professional in Product Management course. She also teaches Hyperdrive’s User Story Workshop, helping students strengthen product thinking and create meaningful, customer-focused backlog items.

Lucy has also designed and facilitated leadership development experiences, including a four-part leadership series for The Optimism Company, Simon Sinek’s organization. The series helped leaders connect Agile ways of working with leadership, collaboration, product thinking, prioritization, and organizational effectiveness. This reflects Lucy’s passion for helping organizations apply Agile principles beyond software development to improve how people work together.

Frameworks provide guidance, but they don’t replace critical thinking. I want my students to understand not only what Scrum says, but why it matters and how to apply it in the real world.

Lucy believes certification is the beginning of learning, not the end. Her goal is not simply to help students understand the theory, but to equip them with the judgment, confidence, and practical skills to lead Scrum Teams, build better products, and create meaningful change in their organizations.

I believe the best classes aren’t lectures. They’re conversations. I encourage students to challenge assumptions, ask difficult questions, and connect Agile principles to the realities of their own organizations, creating an environment where learning continues long after the certification is earned.

Lucy’s passion and purpose is to help others build more fulfilling and successful careers through Agile, just as she was able to do. She helps students leave class prepared to apply what they’ve learned with confidence and become a force for positive transformation in their own teams and organizations.
